Put on your running shoes and get ready for Vandalia Main Street’s Corn Day 5K on September 27th, 2008. Corn Day 5K is a 5K Run / Walk through Vandalia streets and ends up downtown, just in time for CORN DAY!! The road race is designed to be fun for both experienced runners and novices. Medals will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place in each age category, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three men and top three women overall. Prizes will be $75, $50 and $25 for first, second and third place, respectively. Medals will be awarded to the top three winners in the Youth Fun Run as well.

The Youth Half Mile Fun Run for ages 6-12 begins at 8:00am followed by the 5K Run / Walk at 8:40am. Registration will be race day from 7:00am – 8:00am at the Vandalia Wal-Mart Supercenter. Entry fees are $10 for the Youth Fun Run and $20 for the 5K Run/Walk. We have also added a discounted Family Race for family members who wish to participate in the race. All race entries received by September 19th will receive a free t-shirt!
