4:00pm - 7:00pm: The National Road Interpretive Center in Vandalia celebrates its 1-year Anniversary. Located at 106 South 5th Street (just north of City Hall) the center opened on February 12, 2009 and since opening has added many new exhibits including a life-size interactive replica of a covered wagon. 7:00pm - 9:00pm: Friends of the Old State Capitol will be hosting a birthday celebration for Abraham Lincoln at the Vandalia Statehouse. Kevin Kaegy will present a program about Lincoln's career as a lawyer "Riding the 8th Judicial Circuit". A collection of Lincoln memorabilia from Tom Mathis will be on display. Refreshments will be served.
