Vandalia Main Street’s 3rd Annual “Women’s Day Out” will be held on Saturday, April 18th in downtown Vandalia. Ticket price includes brunch at the Old State Capitol, Victorian Tea with “Mary Todd Lincoln” and special discounts from participating downtown merchants. Event chair, Joanna Helm, encourages ladies to participate in the event, “Women’s Day Out is the perfect day for women to gather a group of girl friends together to enjoy a day downtown. The Victorian Theme for the event this year along with the Mary Todd Lincoln Tea should make this year’s event a unique experience.” The event begins at 9:30am with registration and brunch at the Vandalia Old State Capitol, followed by downtown shopping. Other activities during the day include a Lincoln-themed “Cemetery Walk” put on by the Fayette County Genealogical Society for a $5 donation, and the Vandalia Little Community Garden spring festival. At 1:00pm, the event concludes with the Victorian Tea with Mary Todd Lincoln that will take place in the newly renovated 2nd-story banquet facility at the American Legion.
