The inital bid letting for the project on April 27, 2007 produced no bids, but City Officials and the City engineers were confident that ammendments to the Streetscape project requirements made for the June 15th letting would interest several major contractors.
Although no bids were made for the first two lettings, Mayor Gottman feels that the City should persevere and find a way to make use of these funds for the structural and aesthetic improvement of the historic downtown district.
